Billy Johnson Jr. Presents and Parents In The Mix hosted the panel discussion Examining Music From A Parent’s Perspective at the 3rd Annual Long Beach Indie International Film, Media & Music festival Friday at the Long Beach Convention Center.

Moderated by Billy Johnson Jr., the panelists included Mani, cast member of the Lifetime reality series The Rap Game; Lacreshia Hoy, Mani’s mother/manager and The Rap Game cast member; Radio Disney personality and recording artist Lela B; and John Causey, Lela B’s father and manager.

The discussion covered all things related to youth, parenting and music, including controversial lyrical content, industry pressures for teen artists to create edgy personas, and parental involvement.
