Former Saturday Night Live cast member Jay Pharoah is easily one of my favorite impressionists, so it was cool to do a phone interview with him on Thursday for a story for Yahoo Music.

Jay’s co-hosting the American Music Awards on Sunday, so I asked him which celebrities should expect to be the subject of his jokes. But he would not reveal any names. He did say that nothing was off limits. I did get him to talk about the time president-elect Donald Trump hosted SNL last year and made a cameo in Pharoah’s parody video of Drake’s “Hotline Bling.” He described his impression of “Panda” rapper Desiigner, said he was not surprised by Shia LaBeouf’s rap skills displayed on Sway in the Morning’s Five Fingers of Death segment, and also gave some updates on his forthcoming rap album.
